Evernote over complicated

NOTES
Thats all you had to provide, a place for notes.
NOT floating>recent suggested>PINNED> Scratch Pad with half the screen occupied by a picture of a cup of coffee. You have hidden my notes to display style contect, why?.
This used to save my notes, now its over processed rubbish.
'Home' is a picture of a cup of coffee, where are my notes?
I have to dig for everything, open several notes. Its hellish. Typically, they don't want to be contacted.
Why bury everything? Its all style over content. Its completely useless. 2020 version role back. When something works, why fecuk it up?
Formatting has always been an issue so one can't type directly, instead you need NotePad just to get rid of the formatting.
Please can anyone suggest a BASIC FUNCTIONAL app for notes. Can pay, it doesn't need to be complicated.

Sinking ship

I was a premium user of Evernote for several years and enjoyed using it, but stopped premium as Evernote seemed like a sinking ship. Since last year or so, its mobile app is getting more and more buggy (and heavier to load!). Retrieving previously saved notes has turned into a painstaking task of hit-or-miss. Adding a tag to new notes has become a nightmare. Each time you add a new note from the 'share' option of a mobile browser, first you should delete the tags from the previous notes (search the automatically-added tags one-by-one and untick their box!!!). Sending a message to support team did not change anything.

Use Evernote for many years

Use Evernote for many years. Was always a satisfied user. All the improvements Evernote made the latest year, didn't make the App better. It loads notes almost not, even with fast internet connection. Very Frustrating if you are underway. For the yearly subscription fee Evernote became a poor solution to manage notes.

Wiped loads of my audio data

Wiped loads of my audio data, which is moist of what I do. Three weeks later still no answer on if I can get my data back - just "working on bug fixes". Support don't answer questions. Very vakuablke data lost. If you value the notes you are taking don't use evernote.

This app is absolute cancer

This app is absolute cancer. They push out a forceful update several times a week that hijacks the focus of your entire OS, so no matter what you're doing, several times a week it'll take over your screen and offer to update.
I tried to permanently delete my account today - which has an error that blocks you from deleting it. This company producing criminally bad software and should be put out of their misery.
This is why dark patterns need to be illegal, perfect example of a company that will be put out of business in the future for their shady practices.

Evernote is the past and they make hard to leave

I used this app for almost 5 years now. I switched last year to Notion and it's SO MUCH BETTER than Evernote. Today Evernote is a mess without a visual identity. Every time I need to open the application to get some old note IT'S PURE PAIN.
Today I receive my bill for my yearly subscription. So I stop my subscription. Guess what: if you stop your subscription you will lose also what you paid for :-)
Stay away from this company they are DESPERATE.

Abandon hope all ye who enter here

The latest upgrade is not good.
The last version was OK, but has bugs.
But the new version should be avoided.

Absolutely Terrible Upgrade.

I have been using Evernote for over 10 years and a premium subscriber. It worked fine up to the new v10 'downgrade'. Now it is slow, laggy and generally terrible. I will be migrating all of my notes and info then cancelling my subscription. Bye bye Evernote, its been fun. Sack your new development team.

Horrible

The latest updates made the app impossible to work with as it has become so freaking slow and unresponsive. I have sent them feedback to bring this to their attention and they don't seem to have taken action on it/read it. I have also provided feedback a while ago regarding another issue and they neither replied back nor implemented the fix.
They keep bombarding me with popups begging me to upgrade to premium too.
I recently formatted my computer and had to unsync the old instance of Evernote twice. I logged in to the web version of Evernote to see if it is faster than the latest crappy desktop version, and it displayed a message saying I have to unsync a device because as a free user I am allowed max 2 devices at a time. I tried to unsync my phone, and it displayed a message like "yOu hAvE exCeeDed tHe mAxImUm uNsYnC liMiT foR tHiS mOnTh"

The end of the Evernote era?

Have used Evernote Premium for well over a decade. It wasn't perfect, more like a text archive, and missed feature that couldn't be too hard to implement. Then Version 10 was released at the end of Covid year 2020...
Version 10 .... I removed it as I couldn't figure out how to work with it. Researched it and apparently features have been removed. It's not a cosmetic revamp it's as someone said a new product with reduced features imposed upon its users.
For the moment I installed a legacy version next to a similar service called "Notion" that seamlessly imported all my Evernote Notebooks.
I still follow the Evernote support forum in the hope something will get the attention of the programmers. No, just more complaints of disgruntled users. The end of an era?
